I am a passionate, vibrant, outdoorsy mom of 2 girls. 

Why is swimming close to your heart?

I have always loved water. Swimming is a fantastic skill as it can be used to create many exciting experiences.

How many years swimming experience do you have?

I have 25 years experience in teaching swimming.

What are your certifications?

LTS, Aquatots, First Aid, CPR, currently studying a 1 year child psychology course through Skills Academy.

What ongoing training do you partake in?

Swim South Africa workshops and self-study.

Why do you love LSA?

It is my dream come true that I have been fortunate to build and mould, which I get to enjoy daily. On top of this I am fortunate enough to have the most dynamic team alongside me. Together we are constantly striving to be the best swim school around.

Head Teacher – 14 Years of Experience

What is your role at LSA? 

I am the head teacher who teaches part-time and coordinates all admin surrounding classes.

Tell us something personal about yourself. 

I am a proud mother of a gorgeous girl. I love outdoor activities and family fun times. I play provincial squash, enjoy cycling and family funtime.

Why is swimming close to your heart? 

Swimming is an essential life skill for all ages. Teaching that life skill and knowing the importance makes me proud.  Encouraging people to overcome a genuine fear of water is a great accomplishment.

How many years swimming experience do you have?

12 years teaching.

What are your certifications? 

Swim SA certificate, Sports and Event Management diploma, First Aid, CPR.

What ongoing training do you partake in? 

First Aid, CPR Renewals, regular swimming workshops.

Why do you love LSA? 

LSA has a different feel to it, it doesn’t always feel like you going to work. Being able to teach little ones a new skill in a relaxed, happy environment puts a smile on my face 🙂

What is your role at LSA? 

I teach learn to swim from the age of 2,5years all the way to 85 years of age.

Tell us something personal about yourself. 

I am a mum of 2 beautiful daughters.

I swim open water races myself so swimming is in my blood. 

Why is swimming close to your heart? 

Swimming is a life skill that I believe everyone should have. In Africa especially most homes have a swimming pool so respect and understanding of swimming is essential.

Why do you love LSA? 

LSA is a family friendly environment that is run from a home. With my family living out the country, LSA has become my family. We respect every child is different so we run our classes to cater for the individual.

What is your Role at LSA?

I am a Learn to Swim Instructor, Adults Swimming instructor, Aqua Fitness Instructor, Domestic Awareness, and domestic swimming Instructor.

I help run the admin side of LSA and head up the adult swimming lessons and admin as well as the Aqua Fitness and Domestic Awareness/ Swimming lessons together with Leigh. I also run LSA’s social media and marketing.

I am a fun, caring and energetic individual with an upbeat personality.

I am absolutely passionate and committed about what I do and always put my all into everything I do.

I am a responsible individual and I always strive to help others be the best version of themselves.

Why is swimming close to your heart?

Swimming has been a big part of my life even before I could crawl, I have also loved the water more than anything, being able to swim is a massive life skill that should be a priority for all. I am a strong activist when it come to educating people on drownings, preventions and how to deal with those situations. I love to educate people on water, water safety, overcoming fear and anxiety of being in the pool and how to enjoy being in the water.

How many years swimming experience do you have:

I have been at LSA for 9 years, loved water for 27 years and embark on the competitive swimming and water polo journey throughout primary school and high school years.

What are your certifications:

Swim South Africa certificate, currently studying my Degree in Education in Intermediate phase, First Aid, CPR, Qualifying in Aqua Aerobics Fitness Instructor Course, CBT advanced level psychology/ psychotherapy certification, introduction to Child Psychology certification.

What ongoing training do you partake in?

First aid, CPR renewals and regular swimming workshops, child development work shops.

Why do you love LSA?

LSA is a home away from home, where dreams are built, and goals are achieved. LSA has been a support structure to me personally and allowed me to grow and expand my personal limitations. LSA is family orientated. This is a place where you can be yourself and grow to your full potential as a teacher and a member of the team.

What is your role at LSA? 

I am a learn-to-swim and stroke correction coach for children from the age of 2,5 years onwards.

Tell us something personal about yourself. 

I am passionate, dedicated, and patient. I have a deep love for health and sports, and I strive to understand each individual to support them in achieving their goals. Helping others succeed brings me immense joy.

Why is swimming close to your heart? 

Swimming is a crucial life skill that everyone should have. I am enthusiastic about sharing my love for the sport and teaching these valuable skills to individuals of all ages. The challenges and achievements in swimming are incredibly rewarding, and I take great pride in guiding others on their swimming journey. Watching my students accomplish their goals is deeply fulfilling.

How many years swimming experience do you have? 

I have 9 years of swimming experience. I began swimming competitively at the age of 12. I have participated in both short course and long course national events, as well as open water nationals, earning my Gauteng colours for Open Water Swimming in 2020.

What are your certifications? 

Swim SA certificate, CPR, and currently studying a degree in strategic brand management.
